The hockey gods smiled upon us

You'll forgive this usually mild-mannered Canadian from yee-hawing a bit. Our boys in red and white beat your boys in red, white and blue in a thrilling gold medal game (5 - 2, in case any of you turned off your sets early).

The game (and in fact the whole tournament) was everything hockey should be: fast, end-to-end, hard-hitting, great passing with none of the scrums where players try to bitch-slap each other like in the NHL. It shows you what can happen when all the teams have great talent and there is something to play for in every game.

My commiserations to our Yankee brethern; your team played extremely well and were gracious in defeat.

Regards

JC

Congratulations! I didn't care too much about men's hockey; they were all pros anyway but the women's was much more interesting.

Congrats Johnny!

Very well played game and I loved the way Gretzky reacted to the 3rd goal scored, that in itself was a gold medal winner in my book. Eh!!!

There was a hockey game? Between the US and Canada? When was this?

LOL, JBT... like anyone could live in NA and not be aware that the Olympics were going on!

That's right they are going to be in Salt lake City. When do they start or are you trying to tell me something?

That's it, J. Something like that.

:-D
