I need help with this subject for an english paper. any help is greatly appreciated! i need to describe his writing style, i need to discuss diction, sentence structure, grammer/mechanics and any other elements that describe his unique style( like subject matter, tone/mood and theme). If you are able to give me any quotes from the "Cask of Amontillado" to support this that would be great. Thank you SO much to anyone who helped! you have no idea how much it means to me ( I was absent for all of our disscussions from the flu, so i missed a lot!) thanks again!

Since Amontillado has a renaissance Italian atmosphere a little comparison to Shakespeare might help. The mix of ironic humor and the blind progression of the victim into the trap. Poe often uses the natural English rhythm in full iambic pentameter. can't think of any lines and don't have time. Look at the dramatic closures and decriptive passages. The urbane, stylized sentence structure fits the mind of Montresor very well, and is a good parallel without much of a stretch for a mischievous and angry Poe. The rhythms and complexities of the sentences drive the mood as the voice of any good storyteller.
