Dabizas

He certainly was determined to win today wasn't he? Storming upfield with the ball at his feet, one saved off the line by Sorensen's ankle, one hit the bar and then the goal. Somehow it seemed inevitable that he was going to be the one. And two incredible Given saves, especially the last.

Fantastic performance from Dabizas.

Rarely put a foot wrong at the back, and was great going forward.

Although I would perhaps rather see him defending than parading up front, he hit the target three times and I had a feeling he would score, as their centre backs were constantly picking up Shearer and Speed, so I knew someone else would get in there eventually.

Dabizas was really up for this one. I think he's a Geordie by now. Ace performance.

Aways been one of my favourite players. Always gives his all and if you ask me, is reliable. He's strong and good in the air. You get the feeling he's one of those players that really wants to win games. I suppose his celebration said it all.

Guess who had £3 on Dabz for last scorer at 33-1? You lot might have been willing us to score a second, I was quite happy with 1-0.

Mine's a pint, thanks Dave :-)

Odd that all our recent goals against the unwashed have come from defenders.

The guy could have had a hatrick. Top bloke.

Our two Greeks did us proud. Solanopolos is playing the best football of his time here. It's all Greek to me. Perhaps we should re-sign Georgiadis. Ketsbaia had a Greek wife. Papavasiliou's probably past it by now though ;-)

Nikos is a Geordie! (to be sung at the next game)

It was good to hear a chant for Nobby yesterday - can't recall hearing one before.
