It has been quiet latley. I have been locating people that want my rabbits for BARF[bones and raw food] I need info on shipping and packaging. These will be processed and frozen. Where do you find appropiate containers and dry ice? Anyone who has shipped HELP. Tracy

Cardboard boxes - check the "shipping supplies" at local office supply stores. Line the box with styrofoam. Place the dry ice (look in your yellow pages phone book under "ice") in plastic bags (use the freezer bags, they're thicker). Pack the bagged ice around the rabbit carcass. Place in foam-lined box, tape it up and label it. Be sure to note "Dry Ice" on the front and top of the box!

I would put some newspaper between the plastic-covered ice and the meat. That dry ice can freezer-burn meat really quickly.

I dont use dry Ice. If you ship with it it has to be a shipped hazardous materials and is much more expensive. I have found a company that sells supplies to make freeze packs. Total cost is .05 a piece to make. I add my frozen products to the insulated shipping box and then place a couple of my freeze packs on top. I use newspaper to fill in any air gaps. Send 2 day and have had no problems with things unthawing.
