I am in search of the title of the story, that i think was written by poe, in which a wife bludgeons her husband over the head with a frozen leg of lamb, kills him and then feeds it to the police while they are doing the investigation at her home

There is no such story by Poe. It may be that you have seen or read some wild, and rather free, adaptation of Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart."

If it helps, I can't remember the title of the story but it is one of Roald Dahl's 'Tales of the Unexpected'.

The Dahl story was adapted for TV the baneful source of too much incomplete liteary knowledge. Poe would have liked the food angle, the duping, the fooling of the police with a crimne in the open(Purloined Letter).
