I was just wondering, where do the Robins go in the winter?

Since my fields are full of Robins, I was wondering where do they winter over at. I live on the Gulf of Mexico, so I know they just flew the whole way across the Gulf. I quess thats why there looking for food in my fields. I bet they are tired and hungry

Ah really don't know the answer to your question, Irene, but since this is mah first winter "up north", ah kin tell yew, SOME of those robins stayed up here! Despite sub-zero temps and feet of snow, they stayed up north. And even though ah know that lots of bald eagles winter along the Gulf Coast, ah have seen a dozen or more up here all winter long . What as sight to behold!

I always thought they went to Texas!!! ha! This year most of them did stay here for the winter. I guess they knew more about the weather forecast than the weathermen did! It has been an unusually warm winter. Bluebirds stayed too. Only birds I've not seen this winter that I normally see in warm weather are the hummingbirds and hopefully they'll be coming back soon.
