Satday-Sunday. The great divide?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

There's perhaps not a huge amount of banter on here seeing as there's a canny important derby coming up this weekend. Which got me thinking how much I dislike us playing on a Sunday. With a Saturday game you can get keyed up at work all day Friday and use it - very reasonably IMO - as a reason to do bugga all. With us not playing till Sunday evening it still feels a long way off and so I'm compelled to work hard, you know, sharpening me pencils and placing them in neat rows etc. Anyone else hate Sunday matches too ?

As a traditionalist, I love Saturday games at 3pm and everything that goes with it - fish & chips for lunch, pint after the game to reflect, reading the match reports in bed on a Sunday morning.

How the hell are you supposed to prepare for a 7pm ko on a Sunday - wandering round the house like a spare part?

I hope youre not goin to wait till Sunday evening to watch it cos you'll miss it (depends on where you are I suppose). I still prefer the Saturday game in all honesty and don't mind the 5.30 KO like with the Arse and B/Burn games cos you can either watch the results of the games before or come out of your game and head straight to a pub to watch the games after. Sunday just seems to be ruined by a match and I really hated the 7pm KO for the City game. Definitely prefer Saturday.

It's in the bag, Mark Lawro says the Makems are going to win :-)

Does Lawro ever predict a win for Newcastle? Notice Liverpool was the only fixture he actually predicted a score line!!

I hate Sunday matches, particularly on Sky. It's just an evil combination.

I would prefer Saturday every time, even the match results being read out after the game is something I miss at a Sunday match.

However, if it means we get another £10m or so from TV money I will accept it.
