whew!!!!!!!!! fantastic!I've been jumping up and down... tense or what?

Great, a nation with no snow is better then us (Sweden) in the WINTER olympics. Im moving to Norway, bye.

Britain gets snow. Now Australia on the other hand, who've won 2 medals in this Olympics..... ;-))
-- Anonymous, February 21, 2002
what! Australia gets loads of snow. they've got some decent ski resorts. in the snowy mountains. i'm surprised they've done so poorly.

Done poorly Nick ?! First ever Winter gold medals this year, albeit from a Queenslander (not a lot of snow up there in case you hadn't noticed !) and from a girl wh'd never skied until she was 19. Doesn't say much about the rest though, you're right

Anyone notice the skips' uncanny resemblene to Colin hendry?

It was mentioned in Chez Smith last night Dave!

It was mulled over in Wark if she barracked and called out in the same fashion while in the throes of passion.

My new 15th favoutite sport. Until the dominoes world championships kick off in Scunthorpe next Wednesday night.Naw, that's unfair. The gals done us proud, they've done something I'll never be able to dream of, and after almost going out a few times showed the strength of character to keep winning. Three cheers.

Dull facts on curling no.23did you know the stones are all cut from the same quarry on an island in Scotland? Chosen in particular for the stone's toughness and fracturing qualities. See, working in Geology comes in useful at last!

I didn't have a clue half of the time at what they were doing. There was one in the 4th or 5th round where there was an empty circle target thingy and the Swiss lass just curled the stone right down to the bottom, missing the circle on purpose.
I still watched it though, I suppose it's like watching a football game without knowing the offside rule.

Was bloody horrified to find it on both BBC 1 & 2 at 10:30pm!Would rather watch the Mackems on MOTD, nevertheless thrilled to bits for them. Did us proud, despite apparently all being Scots!

You must have caught it as it changed over, as it could only have been on both channels for a few seconds, it switched from one to the other and must have overlapped a bit. Can't say I'll be making a habit of watching it like, it was more support for them as they had a chance of gold for Britain which is very rare in the Winter Olympics.

Paul
Leaving the circle empty was a tactical move to try to ensure that they got last curl in the next end. I think the losers of an end get last curl in the next, or something like that.
-- Anonymous, February 22, 2002
Heh, heh, heh. Paul comes on here trying to make us believe he jnows what the offisde rule is all about. Howay man, even owd bu99ers like Pot Belly hasn't a clue what that's aal aboot and he's been around since before fottball was invented.

There are certainly some linesmen who haven't grasped the fundamentals of the offside rule.(Now didn't that sentence sound posh?)

Never mind the curlers - what about the skiing. We got bronze in the slalom. A bronze medal for a country that gets very little snow and has no mountains. Unbelievable.
-- Anonymous, February 24, 2002
Agree with you there Kegsy Bronze in the Slalom is a fantastic achievement.I don't think even Switzerland got a medal in the "Alpine" events
