So, since I've been looking for a M6 TTL for a while I've been tracking their availability and prices on eBay. My observations: it seemed that when M7 rumors surfaced prices where going down slightly on used M6s, however, now there are alomst non available on e.g. eBay, especially not M6 TTLs. The ones available are either titanium, collector pieces or w/ .85 vf.

So much for ppl selling off their M6s to get a M7. Perhaps things will change when the M7 becomes generally available. Perhaps Leica nuts will just ignore it for now and continue to cherish their old mechanical M-series. cheers,

…and why would they Pat? The M7 is not IMHO any kind of replacement for the M6. Its a different tool which has specific uses. That said from what I've seen it looks like the plastic is in for another hammering!

perhaps it is wrong to focus/blame the M7, my 'surprise' is rather how few M6 TTLs are for sale.

It seems that most of the "sales" are people trying to make a buck on the "collector" editions that will sit in some case and handled with white gloves. It makes me sick.

Don't let it make you sick - those collectors and suchlike are a (very) vital part of what keeps Leica afloat!

According to this months 'Classic Camera' M special, King Bhumipol of Thailand recently gave Leica an order for SEVEN HUNDRED gold-plated M6's with matching lenses!

That's an awful lot of Deutschmarks (or Euros!)
