Lookin for a recipe for Crock Pot Apple Cake

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

In the book that came my moms Rival Crock Pot that she bought probably twenty years ago there was a recipe for Apple Cake.

Due to an unfortunate accident (my fault) the book was destroyed and now I'm trying to find that recipe. I have checked Rival's site, searched the internet, and even bought a new crock pot and I can't find that recipe anywhere.

I'm hoping that someone out there has the recipe and can send it to me.

Ralph, I have a 24 year old Rival Crockpot and found this recipe in my booklet. I hope its the one you are looking for. I have never made this one, though I have made other desserts in the crock pot. Apple Cake 2 cups sugar, 1 cup oil, 2 eggs, 2 teaspoon vanilla, 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, 2 cups Delicious apples finely chopped and not peeled. 1 cup walnuts. Beat sugar, oil and eggs together well. Add Vanilla. Sift flour, salt, soda, and nutmeg together. Add chopped apples to sugar mixture and beat well. Stir in flour mixture and nuts. Bake as below. Crock Pot cakes Directions: Pour mixed batter into greased and floured 2 or 3 pound coffee can or mold. ( Fill no more then 2/3 full) Place in Crock pot; cover top of can or mold with 4-6 paper towels. Cover and cook on high 4 to 5 1/2 hours in a 4 1/2 quart model using 3 pound coffee can. Crockpot lid should not be tightly closed but slightly raised to allow release of excess moisture. Add no water and do not peek until last hour. I hope this is the one your looking for. Denise

Mitch, Thanks for looking but the one that I was looking for was the one that Denise posted.

Denise I never would have heard the end of this had you not found that recipe. Thank you very very much.

Ralph
