I am doing a essay paper for my college English class and I just wanted some information about how Edgar Allan Poe impacted the imagination of so many people even today. What was it about him and his writing made us in awe?

I think it has to do with the fact that the majority of the people in the world are afraid of death and that seems to make them even more facisinated by it, Poe just seems to put a certain light on it that is very direct and sometime a little mysterious so people can kinda of choose how they want to look at death and their fear of it. I believe that is why Poe was so obbssed with death is beacuse he was incredably afraid of it.
