Fishin! [preachin for the poor in heart]

Drainin the pond seemed like a good idea at the time. Afterall, it was full of turtles that kept eatin the small fish--fish from bluegill to bass to catfish. Well, a small trench was cut in the dam just deep enough for the water to start drain'n out. We figgered the water would cut a deeper channel and end up drainin itself without us diggin anymore. What we didn't know was the pond, which was built on a hillside, was dug deeper than we thought and was actually a "hole" in the side of the hill. It drained down to groundlevel and stopped. Within the remaining water, which was bout 9 ft deep, remained all the fish, turtles and whatever else was in there.

It was decided to just leave things alone and give up. We did!

The moral of the story? I dunno. The pond belonged to an older brother and he was wantin to fix the dam. It was infested with tree roots from willow trees and had made the dam leak some. He ended up havin a contractor come in with heavy equipment and redo the entire pond. A much larger dam was built below the original dam, the pond dug bunches deeper and longer and wider--ya'll get the idea. It is really a nice pond now with all those fish intact yet. When rebuildin the pond the water was left in it without disturbin the fish. Turtles still remain I guess but they have much more room now.

Seems to me that I just mite have to go wet a line one of these days and see just how big those fish are now. Ain't nuthin like a fresh fish pan fried or even rolled in tinfoil and cooked on a grill.

Remember when Jesus Christ met up with His diciples? He told'm to "come I'll make you fishers of men"! Are ya'll "fishin" for Him? Many precious souls are wanderin around in this old world and have really never heard about His plan of Salvation. Almost everybody in America have heard of Jesus Christ but not how to become a "fisher of souls" for Him. Time is gettin shorter and shorter before He comes for His people.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things I'll make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord"!

On the other side of the coin---"Depart from Me you worker of iniquity into everlasting darkness. I never knew you"! Which one will you hear at your meeting with Him?
