Two things yesterday on Ceefax

The first was PSVs Van Bommel saying he fancied coming to England to play football but wanted to be in the CL and teams like Leeds weren't really big enough for him.

The second was Chelsea relaying Stamford Bridge at a cost of £125k after attempts to paint the mud green had not down well with the players !

I think PSV have said nobody has even made enquiries yet. VB wants to move to only 2 places (easy guess) and has made it quite clear in the statement if that's what he said.

Noticed also MacB. Still think we need to keep our feet on the ground even if we do qualify. I never knew why Leeds went so mad with the cheque book when they had so much youth talent - I really wonder whether they would have done just as well without Rio Ferdinand, Fowler, Keane, Johnson etc.

Certainly Ferdinand was a good buy, but you hardly see or here of Keane anymore. Not sure on the other two yet. Maybe he new they needed a big squad with all the suspension and injuries they'd get. They bought and we promoted players. If Robson had the money he would probably have bought as well.

If Rio Ferdinand is worth £18 Million then what price Andy O'B?

Ferdinand constantly gets caught in possession, he's not exactly greased lightening and has gone almost an entire season without scoring. He's the most over-rated player in the Premiership.

In hindsight (which I have loads of by the way), O'Dreary has bought very poorly recently. Johnson, Mills and Ferdinand all seem to be from the same mould; young? yes, talented? borderline, overpriced? certainly.

Shame really, such a likeable club Leeds aren't they?

The thing about Ferdinand is that they were fairly sure that Woodgate was going down. I thought that, on the basis of his latter couple of seasons at West Ham, they were mad to spend that much on him, but he has, by and large, impressed me at Leeds. Having said that, with someone like Radebe to bring them on the way he brought Woodgate on, I wonder how well O'B, Hughes and the Caldwells would be doing now..

European football may be worth a bomb financially, but what I've seen footywise over the last couple of nights has been absolute garbage.

And the chann 5 morons are raving about Leeds. God help us.

PSV v Leeds was probably the dirtiest game I've seen all season and yet not one player was booked. There were several 'over-the-top' teckles that went unpunished.

I reckon if Norah Batty had been playing Van Bommel would have got tw***ed, and deservedly.

Clarky - the Leeds lads deserved medals for not tw*tting VB tonight. They weren't total angels but the treatment Dacourt got was disgusting and Smith walking away after that challenge on the wing was unbelieveable. He actually patted the guy as he went past him - if that was to try and wind him up it was brilliant.

I don't like Leeds for their behaviour against us and many others but tonight they were the victims and didn't react at all.

The ref got every foul right but didn't get the card out on the dozen or so times he should have. Incredible.

Dave, I'm pretty sure the only way there would be a 5th CL place would be if Arsenal or Man United won the CL and finished outside of the top 4. (Which I guess is possible). I think.
