Why did he write "A Dream within a Dream"? Why did he write " An Enigma"? Why did he write "Al Arraaf"? Why did he write " Tamerlane"?

Why did Poe write any of his works? I think the reason he wrote A Dream Within A Dream had alot to do with his out look on life and reality, I think he lived in a reality all his own completely different from ours.
