In response to Scotty's message: This message board is just for EUPA board members and was set up for us to discuss some things inbetween meetings. Also, because you weren't at the last meeting and we still haven't got any minutes (Grant!!!), our next meeting is Monday, Feb 25th at 7pm.

My two cents about the summer league proposal: I do have several things to say but will bring up most of them at the meeting on Monday. However, the main thing I am concerned about it the start time. I think it will be hard for teams to be there and ready to play at 6:45pm when lots of people work until 6pm. I also have a problem with captains just sumbitting the team they want. Because Jack is fairly new to the ultimate scene in Edmonton, and because our league has grown so much over the last little while, it is impossible for someone to know how good all of the players on a team are. Therefore, it would be possible for a team to be stacked with a whole bunch of really good players that are just not known by those who are forming the teams. I think this point is best shown by winter league this year. The teams are quite uneven, and I have received complaints from people who say they only play the same few teams over and over, or are completely creamed by any other teams they play. I think we need to improve on this somehow for summer league. (Brandon, don't take offence to this, I am not ragging on you. I just think things need to be a bit different for summer league, especially because it is so much larger.) Anyhoo, that is my few cents worth, I look forward to a good discussion at our next meeting!
