Big lads divvent bubble.

Just to stop us getting too cocky, predictions please for when the bubble is due to burst.

Can't see us playing the way we did against Man city, in any of our next four games, and coming away with a similar result.

Thought that was Gav until I scrolled down. This 'we'll definitely loose the next one, even if it's against Gateshead' thing is down to us doing so well. If we were mid table and going no-where we wouldn't be crapping ourselves. Reminds me of the KK season when we were 12 points clear. Me, I'm a glass half full bloke at the moment, at least as far as the Toon are concerned. We can beat anyone on our day, and we always play well against the big boys. Personally I'm not unhappy being drawn against the Arse. Let's face it, City are a good team, it was the FA Cup, they were really up for it and played out of their skins, there was the KK factor, and WE STILL WON. Howay man, get a grip. Plus, young Kevin's back soon, and we're all optimistic about JJ.

I know it's a cliche but we need to take every game as it comes, one at a time. No good wondering about bubbles bursting etc. We, the supporters, and the team, should only look to the next game and just see what happens.

Trouble is we're so scarred by our experiences in the 95/96 season that we can't bring ourselves to believe again!

Don't count your chickens before they hatch or they won't lay any eggs.

I go along with Lynda. Just one game at a time. Honestly at this point I keep feeling the bubble is about to burst as each match comes, while at the same time feeling that maybe...just maybe this time it will be different. I long ago learned that the pain of losing when my hopes are high is as painful as the joy at winning when not really expecting it is wonderful. So just my way of reducing any potential pain. That's my twisted logic, and I'm sticking to it. ;-))

I think we should slow down and smell the roses, to tell the truth. The Cup performance isn't relevant: we were shite against Brentford and beat Man Utd the following weekend; we were shite against Peterborough but beat Spurs a couple of days later. I'm not saying we'll beat the Makems as anything can happen in derbies and as has been said on here before, Reid has a habit of pulling something out of the hat when he's ankle deep in sh*t. However, whatever happens from hereon in, this has been a wonderful season.

Now now Jonno you'll have SK off on one his rants about us thinking were 'bigger and better than everone else' and we wouldn't want to upset him would we.

And it depends how you define the bubble bursting. We can lose a match without the wheels necessarily coming off - these are crucial games, but look at Man U, who have a talent for losing to championship rivals and still winning the title. If the self-belief is there, we can slip up in one or two of these upcoming games without necessarily falling through the floor as a consequence.

More sh*t! :-)

Wonderful image Dougal - sounds like the prompt for a punchline competition.

I'd have said he was ankle deep in sh1t standing on his head, so sh1t is likely the only thing he could pull out of his hat. :-{E}

Mind, if we do happen to fade away and end up failing to qualify at all for europe, it'll keep the makems happy the rest of the century.

Yet again Sunderland Zoo's cleaners are not doing their jobs.
