what do they do with the used hypo solution?Do they sell it?if not what do they do.please send me the details through email.i am planning to establish a recycling plant of hypo solution. thanking you.

Answers

Most people just pour it down the drain. Commercial labs are often required by law to remove the silver. I remove the silver before I dispose of the hypo.

Like Ed says, alot of people recycle their silver. If you have a good amount, send it to a smelter or a jeweler to melt it into a useable clump... and make something out of it.

A little known historical fact here. The Lone Ranger was an amateur photographer... that is where he got the silver for his bullets.

That's nothing compared to what another amateur I heard about did. He carved a complete set of solid silver cutlery (72 pcs) out of the silver he gathered by recycling his used fixer ! :-)
