Are there any codes of practice that debt collection agencies are supposed to adhere to ? I refer to undue pressure, accepting agreements , bullying

there are codes of practice issued by the CSA (Credit services association) but not all agencies are in the CSA.

You can check which companies belong to the CSA at www.csa-uk.com

The 1970 criminal justices act states very clearly what someone can and cannot do to collect a debt, this is statue and therefore the lender or collector do not need to be part of any organisation.
