Which is entitled" City till I die." NEWCASTLE UNITED.

"where were you when you were shit?" bellowed the bar-code army t maine road last season.Rightly mocking the 34000 City that had suddemly started going to the games because tgier club was in the premiership. Here was a group of suppoerters form the north east, the hotbed of football, who had stuck by their team through thick and thin.Truly loyal supporters. YOU FAT.THICK,PART-TIME,IGNORANT BASTARDS! Is there some sort of talibanesue regime at work up there? Are all the papers edited with attendance figures altered?Has this evil group, the way ay Qaeda, led by Jimmy Nail with Ant and Dec as his right hand men, rewritten history? I suspect that fake copies of " match" and "shoot" have bee distributed throughout the organisations followers. These publications must show how the crowds at st James Park stayed at an atonishing 40000 as they plummeted through the divisions.Yes ,you self-absorbed twats,in the 3rd division,we were regurlary pullijng in 30000 and averaged 28000.When you were a division higher your crowds were well under the 17000 and mostly hovered around the 10000 mark.So have some fucking respect for football fans who are a damn sight more loyal than you can ever be.You are mowt, your fantastic atmosphere and loyal support is a myth.Learn to read and get a football history lesson, you replica-shirted baboons.

Wow, we truly are shit. Pitty the guy couldn't spell as well as he can gather figures, which I couldn't give a flying fcuk about. I couldn't care less how many fans, we, sunlung, Man City or anyone else manage to pull in, as long as the team is performing on the pitch.

What a nice man / woman.

It doesn't matter where you are in te league it's success that matters and 50,000 geordies turn up every other week to watch a team that has won NOTHING. So yes we are the most loyal fans in the world ;)

Surely that is playing right into his hands!?

Newcastle have not always attracted 50000 to matches. That is his point. And sadly you have just proved it!

Although all football fans have selective memories for low points/crowds. Man city got 3000 against Mansfield (I think) in the auto windscreen thing about 3 years ago.

Jeeez!

SK has sunk to the level of finding offensive articles about us in the fanzines of other teams and then publishing the stuff here to "prove" his own prejudices about Toon Fans.

What planet are you on SK? Grow up son. The chip on your shoulder must be getting unbearable. You are obsessed - not with support for your own team, but with the negative emotion of hatred and jealousy of another. It's pathetic.

For the record, winning teams will always attract an audience in whatever division. Mackems had big gates getting promotion from DIVISION 3 :-)), same as Man City. Newcastle has not been tested at that level. :-) Man Utd's record gates up till the 1990's were for their promotion season from Div 2. They surpassed the record of Newcastle which was also set in Div 2 when we won promotion in 1948. Seasons of mediocrity will result in falling gates even in the top division.

And all written without the invective and abuse contained in the appalling item at the top which serves only to demonstrate the poverty of the writer's intelligence.

I just thought it may have been of interest for you, thats all.

In the piece above none of the words are mine, therefore I suggest that you have a chip on YOUR shoulder as you have felt the need to attack me.

I assume that next time someone posts something anti-Sunderland on here you will just ignore it eh?

And as to prove my own prejudices about Newcastle fans can I ask you this?

How many red and white friends do you actually have?

Have you ever been the best man at a Sunderland season ticket holders wedding?

Have you ever driven a minibus to a sunderland away game so that they can all have a drink and enjoy themsleves?

To turn them questions around-I have countless black and white mates.

I have been the best man for a long term Newcastle fan.

I drove a minibus to allow 20 mags to enjoy your cup semi-final win over Spurs at Old trafford.Sitting in the gravelled over wasteland on Salford Quays is very boring, believe me.

Oh and last season I gave 5 mag mates of mine my car for the day so they could go to liverpool.

So the prejudices that you claim I have against newcastle fans would not allow me to do all of the above and much more that I really cannot be bothered to list!

Oh and by the way,the same article said this about Sunderland

"Same as above with a penchant for nicking our songs added on!"

The view on Boro is even more scathing than the view on you but it is of no interest to me or I would imagine, you.

50,000 and we have won nothing. Gloryseekers?

We finished 11th 2 years running after nearly winning the league and playing in the champs league. That IS an underachievement.

Sunderland finish 7th twice after being a 1st division club. This year they look like finishing around 11th so worrying amounts of supporters are vowing not to renew their season tickets.. As it happens Newcastle ARE doing magnificently well this season. But last season over 40,000 Season ticket holders chose to renew their seats for what for what looked like a terrible side, with no real hopes of glory in the years to come. When those people renewed their season tickets we were on course for another 11th place finish.

Glory seekers?

I think Newcastle fans are just getting what they deserve this season for their outstanding, loyal support.

No other team in this league would turn out 52,000 after finishing 11th twice after throwing the league away.

"We are the loyalest, football supporters, the world has ever had"

This bloke is talking out of his trousers I'm afraid. I mean these City fans are SOOOO loyal they had a massive 13,912 gate for their Worthington cup match against Birmingham THIS season, despite reducing prices to a fiver for kids and OAPs. Did we EVER get a gate that low with Keegan in charge?

And this "mostly hovered round the 10,000 mark"? Load of rubbish, our average gate has never been that low even in the darkest of days when many people were boycotting the McKeag regime.

When City were in the second division (not the third as this oaf claims) their average was indeed 28,000 - which was 4,000 below the capacity. When did we last have a league gate 4,000 below capacity?

And just out of interest - in our 92-93 promotion season our average gate was 5,000 more than City were getting in the Premier League at the same time - the gap would have been even bigger if we'd had the room to get folk in.

I suppose this is the sort of tosh you write when you're a "FAT.THICK,PART-TIME,IGNORANT BASTARD". Anyone got his address - I'd like to write to him!!!

You wouldn't catch me arguing attendance figures!

Devon Reds.

Don't know what your all getting upset about. It made me laugh out loud :-)

There is no doubt that Newcastle have had low attendances fiqures AT TIMES. But over the years, the fiqures have consistently been some of the best in the league. However I am falling into the trap of arguing about something so trivial it's unbelievable.

If morons like that City character bothered to check his facts he would find out the truth. Bot I guess the truth gets in the way of myth on this occasion. Sad git.

The City fans fell squarely into the "not worth commenting on" category. However, for the record the 'volume' was canny, but there was far too much negative chanting against the Toon and its fans, and not enough for their own team. In fact "City....ad nauseum" and the excellent "Blue Moon" were basically 'it'.

Wrt to historical fan support, gloryhunters etc. - who really gives a rats?

I thought the original Man City article was being ironic, never mind

-- Anonymous, February 18, 2002

It's wonderful isn't it? After that Everton fan writing a PhD on us the other week, we are getting abused by Man City, who we think about only when we play them. We're getting there, lads and lasses...

Kev, what are you doing reading Man City fanzines?

-- Anonymous, February 18, 2002

I picked the fanzine up in Sportpages in Landan last week.

Bought several completely random ones.
