Come on Citeh!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

It is shown live in Denmark !! So I will be in front off the telly !!!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

It actually feels pretty strange, going to a match at 7pm on a Sunday. I don't know what I'll do with myself for the next 5 hours.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

I am starting to get very excited about it all. I think the 5,000 city fans, KK's return and a floodlit match live on BBC will all add up to a fantastic atmosphere. The massive majority will welcome KK home. Win, loose or draw it will be a night to remember. If we win tonight, 2 wins on the trot puts us in the final. Come on GET EXCITED! We're going for the double here.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Game is being shown live just about everywhere except Australia from what I can gather. Typical.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

I'm flying again this afternoon :(. Same as last week-end, lets hope the score is the same 3 - 1 to the lads. Cheers

Ken, off to Kansas City, USA.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

THERE`S ONLY ONE BOBBY ROBSON - ONE BOBBY ROBSON..........!!!! Hmm, I feel better for that! (:o)

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

YOur sacrifice is most apprectiated, Ken. I hope it works as well this week, too! :-)

I'm on my way to DC(well, Virginia technically) for the satellite broadcast. Trying a pub that has nearby parking this time, so hoping I don't get lost and miss ko. Howay the lads!!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

the match has started, right?! am i the only one not watching it?! somebody, post and tell us (me!) how we look....

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Hi martha ur not alone.....sporting life have a text commentry at http://www.sportinglife.com/football/premiership/news/

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

thanks deb!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Morning all, Sydney clique aren't watching it either. And there's no webcast! Disaster!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

it'll be on here in the US (fox sports world) tomorrow, i think, but that doesn't do me any good now...dammit. it's impossible to get a sense of how we look from the text.

ooh: 1931: Bellamy races clear from a Shearer flick-on and is hauled down by Richard Dunne, the final defender. Will City be down to ten men?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

There's also a pretty detailed text commentary on the BBC website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/hi/english/static/football/statistics/team s/n/newcastle_united/live_hi.stm

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

SWEET! dunne sent off in the 20th minute.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

or 28th minute, according to the bbc.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Anyone else surprised McClen has kept his place in the light of recent events?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Morning all from a damp Sydney. Very quiet on here. still 0-0 ?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Morning Sting. Yep, still 0-0, City down to 10 men though, Dunne foul on Bellamy. VERY VERY quiet on the BBS, sounds like there's only about 6 people in the world not watching it on TV.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Are we playing tonight Andy ? Huckerby sounds like hes had a few chances.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Good day from central cali - no bars around here showing the game and nowhere on the net with live commentary (as far as i can find) so i'm on the phone to england for my live commentary.

final score will be 2-0 to us

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Yeah we've got a game tonight - not sure if it's 6 or 640, definitly not 720 though.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Mornin' all, yep should report in though gettin' ready for work as I go!! good to see numerical adv but as we know that means nowt to us, yes I am surprised about McClen's inclusion. (don't forget Jenas cup tied....and you TDU'ers tonight)

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Just tuning in at half time. Would rather have had the "ceratin" Bellamy one-on-one goal than the pull down by Dunne, sending-off, and then tame free kick. Hughes is handling huckerby really well - matching him for pace. I think it's only a question of time before we manage to get a goal by staying onside. If you missed it, Bellamy was just offside when he put the ball in the net after a great run by Robert. robert's been coming inside a lot during this match, few runs down the wing. Shearer's flick on header to Bellamy when he gor pulled down by Dunne was masterful. Let's hope for great second half.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

By the way where's central Cali? Somewhere in Columbia or Mexico? or do you mean California? Just wonderin'!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Cheers Barry - precious little insight on the BBS this week, nobody else even has radio!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Morning Rog. If you've got the TDU fixtures handy can you confirm with the rest of the lads what time our game is? (Not forgetting, of course, that the original schedule is a week out)

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Andy, all I know is that lst week we played at 6 and it moved on a game last weekto 6.40....

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

bit early for you lads to be awake .... Andy are you up the road at Ken's ? Cant even get the world service to give us commentary here :-(

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

GOal!!!!!! Solano from the middle of the edge of the penalty box following a Speed cross!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Solano Goal 1-0. Long ball forward to right wing - Solano collides with left back who collapses leaving Solano free - moves in on edge of pen area - Weaver comes right out and tries to block Solano but fluffs it - ball breaks free into area wher Solano runs on and pushes it in.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Yep I'm at Ken's. No audio at all that I can find which is annoying. I've got the BBC text commentary on (see above) that's as good as I can find. Rog, we played at 6 last week, presumably that makes us 640 this week.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Robert free kick from right edge of pen area , curls just over. Acuna on for McClen, whose done well in aquiet way. Wanchope free one on one but Elliott came across and got in excellent challenge. Then nearly a Man City header just scrapes past right post. Living dangerously

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Barry - central cali is califoirnia mate, half way between san fransisco and los angeles and nothing to do but come to work.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Barry, your version of the goal is somewhat different from the BBC's - keep it up, they're bound to be talking bollocks!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Man City are really a pretty good team. 10 men and still trying their hearts out. But we're defending well.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

how much time left?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

week two has ToonDownUnder playing Daves hedgehogs at 18:40 .... oppo minus the aforementioned Dave ??

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

We need another goal I think. Can we beat 10 men? Its not always that easy.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

About 20 mins.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Another free kick to City on edge of box -s crambled away but back again. Endless pressure Very worrying

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

17 mins left. At last the ball is out of our half!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

i'm looking forward to watching this game-- i'm sure man city are fighting like crazy for kk, i just hope we can hold out...

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Barry, wot was the reception for KK like ????

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Yeah, 640pm sounds right, we are playing Dave's Hedgehogs or what remains of them. Look at this, we've got 4 of the Sydney clique online.... only missing Loony & Nick (FAR too early for him!)

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Has anyone got an idea why Acuna was brought on for McLen?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

maybe mcclen was drunk.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

BBC is miles behind too I think. 1 nowt will do me , Acuna running around like an idiot for 20 minutes to shut them down should do the trick .

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

how come jenas isn't on the bench, is he just resting after the u-21 game, or what?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

al booked. anyone see it?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Nearly a goal for us. Full back mistake fell to Solano then to Bellamy blocked by goalie. Then nearly another with Weaver about 30 yards out to clear it off Bellamy & Shearer's feet. Solano nearly curled one in now off outside of right boot

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Ha. Acuna has more defensive skills than McLen?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

He's probably cup tied Martha, we signed him after the 3rd round games were played I think, so he probably played for Forest.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Jenas is cup-tied. Played for Notts Forest in an earlier round.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

oh yeah, of course. thanks.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Fantastic reception for KK when he came on pitch with 'Local Hero' playing - huge smile on his face - surrounded by about 50 photographers. And same happened when the Man City bus arrived - huge cheers

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Great tackles by Distin and Hughes on Wanchope. Man City looking very competent

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

so how long left i cant use the BBC one as a good guide.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

I wonder if Mr Robson will do some more substitutions?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

8 mins to go. Neat passing from us but then given away to Wanchope, good tackle by O'Brien

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Lua Lua on, Robert off

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Yeah, BBC commmentator apears to have gone AWOL, he hasn't posted up anything in about 5 mins.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Less than 10 minutes of regulation time. Just as well - finger nails are getting well down!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

how did robert play today? i got the impression he worked much harder last week....

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Good. Lualua on. Should give them something else to think about.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Robert did pretty well. Couple of good runs, especially to feed Bellamy for the offside goal. Plus a free kick which just curled over the bar.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Are we down to 5 minutes to go yet? The BBC live text commentary is well behind I think.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Lua put the fear of god into them at maine Road last year .. lets hope he can kill this one off .... HOWAYYYY LADS !

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Lua Lua cross to Acuna just psat the right post deflected out by Howey. Bellamy volley just pushed round the post by Weaver with the bottom of his glove. 4 minutes stoppage time started now

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

2 mins to go

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

COME ON LADS!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

BBC man appears to have returned from the bog and has resumed normal service - he's got us in injury time too.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Last posting on the Live Text now is at 90.11. Hpow much injury time I wonder. But we still seem to be attacking - for all I can read on that posting.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

dare i ask when the draw is ?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Lua Lua Lua to Bellamy saved off line by defender Whistle gone 1-0 Man City did well

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

HAWAY THE LADS!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

whew.

now we can ask: when is the draw?

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Great. Its not always easuy to play against 10 men. But it sounds from the sending off that we would have had a goal there.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

The double is still on!!!! Cheers for the company lads and lasses, especially Barry - good of you to update us deprived souls around the world. I'm off back to bed in a few minutes.... with apologies to fellow Sydneysiders who just got to work!!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

but not well enough ha .. canny way to start the week , teda all , and see you lads from Toon down under later to repeat the lads winning performance :-)

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

The draw after the last round was made on the Moday following the matches I think.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

thanx for the updates ..... and its goodnight from him, well great morning really !!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Arsenal - Rats!!!!

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

West Brom v Fulham Newcastle v Arsenal Tottenham v Chelsea Middlesbrough v Everton

oh errrggghhh ....

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

I ran through and typed a lovely little halftime report for you all. Hit the send button and ran back through for the second half. Bloody BT Anytime must have bumped me off because it didn`t send. Sorry, folks I did try.

I`ll let the experts give you the low-down in their match reports, but I have to mention that I do believe there was a lovely shot of our very own Steph getting Keegan`s autograph! She is amazing! Well done Steph.

I would say, though, that City played well, even when down to ten men. Full credit to them. As for Arsenal, well, I guess I`d rather have them in the run up than in the final.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

We're at home to Arsenal. Typical. Boro v Everton or Crewe. Tottenham v Chelsea. W Brom v Fulham. Would be good if we beat Arsenal to get W Brom in Semi

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Still - GREAT to get them at home . I don't think they'll be any harder than Man City were - they fought and fought and they got through our defence lots of times, only for great last-ditch tackles by any of Hughes, Distin, O'Brien & Elliott.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Yeah Galaxy, I caught a glimpse of Steph too with her legendary camera. Media star.

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Didn't see Steph getting the autograph, but did see her before ko trying to get a photo. Another BBS star is born! :-)

-- Anonymous, February 17, 2002

Saw her in both shots...the camera and the autograph :))

-- Anonymous, February 18, 2002

Didn't manage to get an autograph but hopefully got some photos!

-- Anonymous, February 18, 2002

Never mind Steph - it was very exciting seeing you anyway! (:o)
