Water question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Dairygoats : One Thread

This is my first kidding and although I don't know exactly when the girls are due I am sure it is soon - kids have dropped, ligaments soft and spine is up near the tail and everyone is bagging up. Everything is progressing but I have a question about how much water they are taking it seems to have increased by about triple in the last 2 days. Is it possible for them to drink too much and bloat or something?? I give warm water with a little cider vinegar.

I don't think a dairy goat could drink too much water. They have to drink alot to produce the milk.

It must be normal because mine also, a couple days before kidding drink a ton. I'm always filling up the bucket. By now I'm sure congrats are in order. Once the ligaments go soft, delivery is near!
