18th or 19th century rowing drill.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Open-water rowing : One Thread

Gentlemen, I am the owner of a replica 18th century ships jolly boat. I have a small crew of historical re-enactors and we would like to handle the boat under oars in an authentic manner. What I am looking for is any one who can help me find or put together a proper rowing drill, for not only rowing, but oar handling also as the oars are 9.5ft.

Thank you for any help.

Tom, this may be a duplicate--I was rowing master of a 22ft replica of HMS Chathams cutter in the Olympia WA area--we competed against 20 other boats from 16ft jolly boats to 28ft, 12 oar ships boats--let me know what you need--commands? rowing drills? manual of oars stuff? walt weinberg
