The Minilux is my last-ditch-backup-backup, having supplanted an old Rollei 35S. But I couldn't imagine not having at least one backup body for my main system. I don't understand why Mr. Vanriper wouldn't pack an n80 or n65 along with his F100. Heck, as a wedding photographer he could leave it in the car if he really thought it weighed too much.

My M3 is a back-up for my G2 system. To me a back-up camera should not be reliant on batteries. However, I also have a G111 17, that could be a back-up but useless without batteries.

To me, a back up means not relegating your lenses to the bag because they are not compatible. My back up for my Leica is another Leica. My back up for my Nikon is another Nikon.
