Broken rewind button m6

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

At present am in Borneo about to head off to Mulu Nat. Park and suddenly I find the film advance is jammed.Seems to be related to the rewind lever on front of m6 as this lever is not located in usual vertical position but is resting about 10 degree from vertical. If looking at the camera from the front that means the rewind button is at about 11 oclock. When I move the button to vertical all is ok so have tied some strong thread to it anchoring it to the eye piece flange(for want of a better description)as the button is under some tension and wants to return to 11 oclock. So on a Cafe table in Brunei in 40 degree heat I was up and running. Has any body had this problem with an m6 before, and is there another way to fix it in the field? By the way I have not even dropped or banged this particular body! Thankyou David.

Tighten the screw that holds the lever in place. This happens a lot I'm afraid. tightening the screw should fix it fine....

Waddjamean you aint got no screwdriver.....

Have a good time and show us the pics
