Could anyone please clarify for me whether or not there are any significant differences between a Leica E55 circular polarizer and a Leitz Wetzlar 13359 circular polarizer? Thanks!

Answers

Leitz became Leica in the late 80's so any item in production at that time has been made with both engravings. The Leica items are of course newer, and newer glasses and coatings and production techniques have been developed, but the name-change alone does not correlate to any particular physical change. I don't know that Leitz/Leica ever made their own polarizers, but it is generally accepted that the current crop of filters is bought-in from an outside manufacturer.
