planning canada icefalls trip: need help!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Mountaineering : One Thread

Hi everyone, my name is Francesca from Milano, Italy. First of all forgive my mistakes writing in english. I have a dream: to go to Canada to climb icefalls in the area of Banff national park. Weeping wall is my biggest dream! My friend and me could have some days free from 17 to 29 of march 2002. I need help because I don't anyone to ask general questions as: 1) how is the season this year in this area (for instance, in Italy is not very good, very dry, and few icefalls are made) 2)is the end of march too late? and more peculiar questions about conditions of the icefalls. Is anyone so kind to tell me if is there is a WWW addresse, where I can find this kind of informations, or to contact me (fra.ma@iol.it) Thanks very much for your attention! Francesca

You can check out this webpage for information on ice conditions in the Rockies:

The end of March may be a bit late for some some climbs, but ice that is shaded or high-elevation should be OK.
