Jay, Don't Go!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

I for one agree that the style of the yea and nay votes on prospective new members is the correct manner to handle such things, if someone has a definite case against such new member, of course bring it to our attention for consideration!

It is assumed that if a BTS member is submitting another non-member for consideration that they are personally "vouching" for the reputation of this person, and baring any glaring ommissions or shortsightedness on the nominating person's part, we should accept this "vouching for" in good faith.

The Fate's help us all if we become so politically correct and nice as some of the other offshoot forums, like the aforementioned Country Families forum, geez, that is just going too far to accommodate "nice"!!!

Jay, you certainly get my reconfirmation vote guy!!!

I can't imagine that anyone would want Jay to go. I certainly don't. So please get rid of the notion that anyone wants you out.

I agree with what Annie said above about the voting and vouching for others.

My only other comment would be that I've noticed anytime there is discussion and not everyone agrees about what we're discussing that people feel like the forum is falling apart or the members involved feel like they have to leave. I wish it wouldn't be like that. I feel everyone is valued here even when we disagree. I also think that when these things come up that we should look at it as something we'll work out. The forum is only over if we lose sight of that goal.

Eek! Jay, I posted on the "New member selection suggestions", but I'll repeat here -- We don't want you to leave, you haven't done anything in appropriate, and I'll be back later after I'm done with critters.

Oh, Jay! You gave in too soon. I was composing one of the greatest, most passionate pleas that you have ever read. It would have made your eyes water. Oh well, I'll save it. You may decide to quit again someday and I'll be ready.

Wildman, (too late again)
