marvel g400tv - ulead media studio

I have marvel g400 tv and Ulead Media Studio pro 6.0. What are the highest performance setting, in video capture and video editor, to export the film sequence to VCR ? I have a motherboard abit KTA7 raid, with athlon 1100 thunderbird processor, and 2 hard disk ultra ata 100 IBM in raid to editing. My computer have 512 MB RAM memory. Thank you. Maurizio

Answers

Always use MJPEG-codec AVI (the h/w codec that came with the Marvel) because that is native to that Matrox and besides I don't think it will output any video unless you use that codec. Use the highest settings: 704x576/480 and 4:1 compression in the capture settings. It is irrelevant to talk about settings when exporting and indeed this is not given because you already have a fixed-resolution AVI sitting on your HDD ready to be played back. Maybe it's time to try FireWire.
