Forum Policy Concerning Categories

Because we want all of our posters and our lurking readers to be able at any time to search the archives and quickly find any Expositions of any author on any section of scripture. And because we want our readers to be able to find any response written by anyone for whatever purpose they may have for doing such. The categories in this forum are very important. For it is by means of these categories which we will continue to build as we progress toward our goal of giving expositions of the entire word of God, that anyone will later be able to research the archives to find comments on various verses of God’s word quickly.

If we do not do this right there will be no order or system by which one can do this type of research. And this would indeed be a tragedy. For if once, after years of labor, we succeed in providing a thorough exegesis of God’s word. And there was no order, which allowed a sincere student of the word of God to do research on this forum to find answers to their inquiries. Then much of our effort would be wasted. Furthermore, without our taking the time and effort to provide as much order as possible, within the limits of the greenspun system, sincere students would waste much time in searching and not succeed in finding the object of their search.

For this reason, if you seek to contribute to the forum we insist that you do so in such a way as to contribute to the order of our Forum for the sake of sincere students that may enter the forum years later to study. And in harmony with our above stated reasons and intentions we shall control the categorizations of the threads in this forum in order to ensure that they are categorized in some consistent order and arrangement conducive to effective use of the archives.

For this reason we have designed specific categories. The threads in this forum shall be separated into two broad general areas. There will be EXPOSITION THREADS and RESPONSE THREADS. For example:

We will have threads that are solely for EXPOSTIONS wherein the author of an exposition is writing without any interference or interruptions. In those threads the author of any Exposition shall be the only contributor. Questions, comments or critical responses shall be given in a thread designated for RESPONSES to the author’s specific exposition. It is there that the author of an exposition will bear the responsibility of conducting dialog with our readers. And the Forum Administrator will moderate those dialogs between the readers and the Expositor. Therefore with each Exposition Thread we will provide a Response Tread designed for such dialog concerning expositions given by a certain author. For example you will see:

“Expositions of the epistle of Paul the apostle to the Hebrews by E. Lee Saffold”

Then beneath it you will see

“Responses to Expositions of the Epistle of Paul to the Hebrews by E. Lee Saffold”

Those desiring to WRITE an exposition of any Book or portion of the scripture are asked to coordinate their efforts with the forum administrator at gdragon007@charter.net. So that the appropriate categories can be set up prior to your writing. This will allow us as editors to prepare the categories which shall latter become a sort of “table of contents” to aid in research. And it will also assist in our efforts to distinguish each person writing EXPOSITIONS from one another in the categories. And it will provide a means to give the author proper credit for his work. And it will allow our readers, who prefer a certain author’s work, desire to ask the author a question or to give an extensive critique of such a work, to easily find that work in the archives and refer to it in their responses.

Those writing to RESPOND to any particular author’s EXPOSITION must please ask their questions or make their comments in the thread entitled RESPONSES and not in the original threads used for the expositions. For example:

If you wanted to RESPOND to “Expositions of the Epistle of Paul to the Hebrews by E. Lee Saffold” you would go to the tread entitled “RESPONSES to Exposition of the Epistles of Paul the Apostle to the Hebrews by E. Lee Saffold”

Now, having explained how this forum will work and how the structure of our categories will be established as we proceed. We ask that all contributors to this forum assist us in achieving these objectives by choosing a category from those that we have provided when you are asked to do so in the process of submitting your response to any given exposition. There is always a category called “uncategorized” which any post will by default be assigned if you do not choose a category. But if everyone does this we will have to change the category in order to have it in the appropriate place in the archives. If your post is not categorized properly we shall attempt to categorize it for you. But, in time as responses multiply this will become too much for the administrator to do alone. Your assistance in attempting to give the appropriate category for your post will greatly assist us in our endeavor to provide the structure needed in our archives so that you will be able to quickly find your post again when you want it for any reason. It will help you to not have to write the same arguments again when you know that you have made them before. And remember that new persons will be coming into the forum and they need to be able to easily find their way around. So, please help us by cooperating with us in developing an organized archive by choosing the accurate category for your post when you submit them.

Of course, we will supervise this matter to ensure that everything is in the right place. And we may therefore have to change the category you selected if it is not the right one or if you did not chose any.
