Shola Ameobi ensured that David Platt's unbeaten record as England Under-21 boss remained intact after a tough test in Nova Gorica.The 20-year-old Newcastle striker side-footed home a Malcolm Christie cross just four minutes after coming on as a 61st-minute substitute to extend Platt's run to six wins and a draw.
It was just reward for Ameobi, who had two minutes earlier rattled Saso Fornezzi's post with a blistering strike from all of 25 yards.
No mention in the review of Jenas other than to say he made his debut.
