The BBS seems to be drifting in and out of consciousness, (much like myself I'm afraid) and is behaving strangely. are others having problems? I note that I can't get the main Greenspun.com site at all. Any idea what's happening? Or maybe there's a problem with my machine. Cache is flushed and all the usual stuff.

There's the DailyToon one, but that went down last time because of too many hits in a day - reached it's limit with the host or something like that.

I hadn't realized www.greenspun.com was no longer working. Maybe I was using greenspun.com without realizing when the bbs was down a few days ago. Haven't seen any updates there as to whatever 'big changes' may or may not be happening. Couldn't get on the bbs at all when I got home from work last night.

Not sure where Macbeth has is nufcbbs link to but I had ancient bookmarks that no longer worked. Unknown host for www.greensp... as it is no longer registered with name servers (as far as I can tell). Greenspun.com still ok. Maybe this changed up to 2 years ago but the www.Greenspun is now expired????

Whoever is responsible for the DNS entry(web host?) usually points urls with and without the www part at the same place, but it's not an automatic thing. The only part a browser fills in is the http:// part.

I've just got a blank page on www.nufcbbs.com that passes you straight thro to the greenspun goobledegook address. The page lives on my BT hosted pages which occasionally cause a problem, cos its BT.

Someone clarify this for me please. I haven't been able to log in for the last 24 hours. Is this because the BBS was down or because I was using www.greenspun.com (I still am) and that link was broken? If I'd used just greenspun.com would I have got in? Thanks in advance.

the www.greenspun.com was not available to nameservers for the last couple of days... whether this is permanent or not I don't know. greenspun.com addresses work fine. Check your old bookmarks (mine were all www.greenspun......)
