Hood question

Does any body know if the hood, #12536, for the E49 variety (Third-generation) 28mm Elmarit-m will fit on the 2nd version (E48?) of the same lens?

don't know this, but wonder if Leica users out there realize the hood that comes with the 35/1.4/ASPH will work fine on the 28/2/ASPH, and it is a lot smaller and lighter than that box they give you with the 28 lens...

No, you need the 12501 hood for the second generation 28/2.8.

THe 12536 is a bayonet-on hood, the E49 lens has studs at 180-degrees on the outer barrel rim. The v/2 28 has no studs, instead has a circumferential groove; the shade is of the 2-tab clip-on type, the same hood is used for the M version 21/3.4 S/A.
