I bought a dresser several years ago, it has a round metal piece attached inside that says huntley I have not been able to find out anything about this company. Has anyone heard of them or where they were located and if they still exist only another name? The dresser has three drawers and a large round mirror. There is a piece of trim molding attached along the bottom that looks like it may have been a pressed molding. Thanks Jenn

I recently discovered I owned a bed made by Huntley Furniture. I came across the same medallion nailed to the back of the headboard. All I've been able to discover so far is that the company was based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and its offical name is the B F Huntley Furniture Company. I'm going to keep looking for information and if I find anything else, I'll let you know.

It's very cool to know that others are in the dark too (misery loves company). I bought a bedroom set (4 post bed, 2 nightstands, 12- drawer dresser) at an auction, that seems very well made - solid mahogany serpentine style (wavy front), dovetail joints, etc. I wish I could find out when it was made etc. If I find any info I'll let you guys know where to look, and I'd appreciate if you'd do the same.

I just bought a dresser, chest, 2 night tables and a mirror. The name Huntley is stamped inside the top drawers. This is nice quality, although it is in rough shape. It is off white french provincial, with beautiful curves. Allison

I've a mahogany chest of drawers and now I'm trying to date it. Your messages were all I found when I searched for Huntley Furniture (stamped into the top inside drawer). The chest has six drawers, serpentine style, intricate metal handles, no legs, and molding. I think it's turn of the century... If anyone has more information on BF Huntley Furniture or how to date a piece like this, please pass it round. Thanks, Jackie

I too have a Huntley 3/4 Vanity with Stool. This Vanity has 2 drawers on each side with a drop drawer in the middle section. I has a large round mirror. Inside the middle drawer, on the right side,is where this bronze "Huntley Furniture" medallion is located. I would like to sell it, but I do not know or have been able to find out anything about this company. I would like to know how much it is worth. If someone has any information, please let me know also. Thanks, Rach

I have a table and 6 chairs as well as a buffet by B. F. Huntley. It would appear that the company operated from 1900 until 1929 and then dissapeared. That's all I know now. Good luck

I just located a used bedroom set manufactured by Huntley, which is stamped in the drawer of the dresser. It has wavy fronts with a pecan stained finish. I will ask the owner of the store and advise any info I may find. Does anyone have a night stand in this design they would like to sell? will keep in touch. Cecelia

Same boat here! just purchased a HUNTLEY dresser and bed frame etc. This furniture is beautifully made and my guess is high dollar. Looks to me like most dove tail pieces were made in the 1920s.Hand carved i am guessing as well? any info on this would be great. Monica

I inherited my Federalist reproduction dresser from an elderly aunt many years ago. Judging by her age at death, the piece would have been made & purchased in the very early 1920's. I have tried internet research on this company for the last couple years with little information beyond what is already written. However I did find out that the company continued to produce under the Huntley label until it was bought out by Thomasville Furniture in the (early?) 1960's. I love my dresser and hope you enjoy your piece as well. -- TC

I emailed Thomasville Furniture Company and asked about Huntley Furniture, this was their reply; "The B. F. Huntley Furniture Company was organized in 1906, through the acquisition of the Oakland Furniture Company(founded in 1898). Later, the Huntley firm also purchased Winston Desk Company in 1909 and Forsyth Furniture Company in 1920. James S. Lynch Sr.acquired the business in 1935. Fire destroyed the Huntley plant on Valentine's Day 1956, but the facility was rebuilt and showed samples at the October furniture market that year. Huntley merged with Thomasville Chair Company in 1961, and the firm became Thomasville Furniture Industries." This is the most I've been able to find out myself.

More from Thomasville Furniture....... Victoria, I'm sorry but I do not know of any other means of obtaining information on the B. F. Huntley line of furniture. We do not have any of the old catalogs showing the furniture made by that company. Wish I could help.

Thanks, Victoria! That was wonderful information!

I also have pieces of furniture with the Huntley Furniture gold circle metal plate in the drawers.I purchased a 4-deep drawer chest, 3-drawer bureau w/goodsize approx.30"x30"mirror,and a vanity w/enormous 38"x33"mirror w/2deep drawers on each side & one small front drawer (no stool),in 1985 from a used furniture store, purposely for the deepness of the drawers, sturdiness of the pieces. They are all dark wood, straight fronts, molding, no legs...excellant condition.Since I am about to move them(always carefully!) to my 8th address since owning them, I decided to sell them at my 'moving- yard/garage sale' this week-end.Thought I'd see what I can find about them online first.Thank-you for all info on this Huntley Co., and now I think I will keep them as the pieces are unique in their depth of drawers, and 'smart-looking'.IF a buyer who loves this furniture as much as I do makes an offer, then I would consider selling, but not just to 'anyone'as I re-realized why I've carefully carted them around all these years...they're georgeous!

I have a chest of drawers made by Huntley. I bought it at a consignment store in Dallas in 1997 (it was the only piece), but I would love to find the rest of the matching bedroom set. It is really well-crafted furniture!

I also have a Huntley 4 draw dresser in very good condition. It was left behind by the people I bought my house from. The drawers are very deep and has the Huntley Furniture medalion on the inside of the draw. Has anyone been able to get a value on the furniture?

I think we are all a bunch of lost souls. I too have inherited a complete Mahogany bedroom suite that I know nothing about. What I am really interested in is how to clean it. It has not been cleaned in years. I have tried all the wood cleaners on the market. The only thing we all know now is that it is pre 1956. I am open to any suggestions.

Hi Everyone: I have a dresser as well in the basement with the Huntley Stamp on the right side of the top drawer. I believe this came from Huntley Furniture. I saw a 1940's furniture catalog from Huntley Bedroom Furniture on Ebay. I couldnt believe the catalog sold for $28.00... cool. It was only 14 pages I am going to email the buyer and ask him/her to send me some info from about the company and the catalog.
