How many Toon fans will go down to Soton for the last match?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I don't know how to format it but the idea is you go to a Saints fan site site and vote :

I'm sorry but the thought of there being 20,000+ Geordies in Soton just makes me giggle

It probably has Galaxy worried! ;))

I'm not sure Bumblef**k has that kind of capacity...and the Victory's beer garden certainly hasn't ;-)

BTW, I would luv it, just luv it, if there were 20,000 Geordies in Southampton.

Seriously, how many from the BBS are likely to be here for the match. I had better get a production line going with my (in)famous pies.(:o)

Only an hour down the road for me so I will be on the lookout for a ticket among the Toon lads...At worst I have a mate who is a Southampton season ticket holder and he reckons he will get me a ticket, but I am hoping to be there whatever the outcome.

2 years ago tickets for the little Dell were still on sale the week before the game (start of the season) Bet it won't be that easy this year even though we will have already clinched the title.

On the subject of tickets - I would be eternally grateful if any seasonticket holders who do NOT intend going to this match, could put in an application for tickets on behalf of Yelli and I. Big drink on us to anyone who can help out.(:o)

I'm thinking of going along

-- Anonymous, February 13, 2002

If we have a chance of winning the League I'm intending to be near the event - ticket or not.

You people shooting your mouths of about this trip seem to have been noticed...

The Daily Blather

South Coast Invasion feared.

With the final Saturday of the season approaching it remains to be seen whether Arsenal or United (sic(k)) will win the title. Both are tied on points and trail Newcastle by just 3 points. The Geordies cannot be considered serious contenders and do not have the class or the strength in depth, or the defence of the Gunners or United to challenge these two giants and are expected to fail at Southampton to allow in the proper title contenders.

But the authorities are worried about a Geordie invasion at the weekend. Extensive research has revealed that hordes of Geordies are secretly planning on the internet that bastion of porn and terrorism to go to Southampton with or without tickets for the game. Typical of these is a man who styles himself only as "Josh" possibly to conceal his hooligan identity. Josh states arrogantly, "I'm intending to be near the event - ticket or not." And providing he can steal a car to drive down as well I shouldn't wonder. On the same website, other suspected thugs such as Kats "I'm thinking of going along", Bob "I am hoping to be there whatever the outcome." will be adding to the Geordie masses.

"Put in an an application for tickets on behalf of Yelli and I. Big drink on us to anyone who can help out" snarls Galaxy as the drinking intentions of the Geordies are clearly and unashamedly spelled out.

We trust that this final day of the season, which belongs by right to United and Arsenal is not ruined by these drink-sodden, ticketless Geordies destroying the peace of this quiet corner of Hampshire. We live in hope.

I see a new career in tabloid jounalism opening up for me here ... :-)

Striker light, Arfur. I'll be there, assuming I'm not in jail already.
