Fresh or Stale another Question of the ages?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread |
Ok, after my angle vs straight cut, I found another one. My wife and I differ on this issue. With Valentine and Easter comming stores are filled with peeps. You know those colorfull marhsmellows cover with sugar. Enough to keep a 5year old going for hours. For more peeps info check out the FAQ http://geekbabe.com/peeps/peepfaq.htmlNow the issue. Peeps come out of the box soft and mushy. By breaking the plastic seal you can let them dry out they become a bit harder.
How do you like your peeps. Fresh and gooey or Day old with a nice crunchy feel?

Ick, I don't like my peeps at all, except to look at. I even bought them for the boys and they wouldn't eat them (still haven't figured that one out - they love marshmallows!)

They had this discussion on Channel 8 new in Indpls. last year. The morning anchorman really likes them. Most people like them stale.

Hey Gary, have you experimented the expandability of fresh versus stale peeps when exposed in the microwave? My mom had 3 year old peeps and they don't expand at all!We had peeps a few years ago. I told my kids they were just pretty decorations and we put them in cute little nests. The looks on their faces was priceless when several days later, I bit the head off one. That is the only time I can recall (almost) eating one.

Thanks Marci for the link! Too funny! BTW, my children won't touch peeps, won't even let me put them in their hot cocoa. Must be the crunch.

This is hilarious. I've been a closet lover of very stale peeps. I would have never dreamed it was so popular. I may have a huge coming out party. I thought I'd died and gone to peep heaven when they started making them for all occasions and I didnt have to store enough for a year. Blessings Peggy
