Leeds love us after all?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

From the Leeds United web site Leeds United fans are overwhelmingly backing Newcastle United to win the Premiership in this week's poll, but with four days left to vote, will the standings change?

Apart From Leeds, Who Would You Like To Win The Title? Chelsea 2.9% Manchester United 8.8% Arsenal 17.6% Liverpool 20.6% Newcastle United 50.0%

Is this really the sort of support we want!

Always Polling

Everyone loves us, we don't care ;-) Besides, they probably would rather a team who has beaten them home and away to take it...and definitely over ManU.

It's only fair we do the same.

If it wasn't going to be the Toon, who would you (realisticaly mind!) like to see taking the title?

For me it would have to be Man U. They wouldn't crow about it (been there before too many times) unlike Liverpool, and I wouldn't like to see Dirty Leeds or Whingers Arse do it out of sheer spite. Chewsee don't deserve it.

I've always said Man U if not us.

They have the best team by quite a way and actually play decent football without scything down the opposition every chance they get. Arsenal are a whinging bunch of foreigners, Chelsea won't win it anyway, Leeds are, well, dirty and Liverpool play the most negative football ever. 4 breaks against Leeds and 4 goals is not only good finishing but bloody lucky as well. Make no mistake, Liverpool are not an attacking side. Hyppia, Gerrard and Hamman spend most of their time camped in their own half, perhaps coming up for the odd corner.

On the other hand, Venables made what I think was a very good point at the weekend commenting on lpool's thrashing of Ipswich. That was one of the only games when the midfield did come right up and help the attackers by outnumbering the Ipswich defense at every opportunity.

He reckoned that was one of the main reasons they scored so many, and If they use the same approach against us, it'll make it a classic, provided we don't bottle it.

I really think that the winner of our game against them will have a very big say in where the title goes.

They won't be able to afford to have their whole midfied joining the attack though, otherwise we would score on nearly every break.

Anyone beginning to fancy another 4-3 against them, maybe us being the winners of it this time.

Anybody but manure, anybody. Of course I don't count Mackems as anybody!

I'm with you on that one, Sounder, anyone BUT Manure!

There's a good reason to not want any of the clubs competing for the championship to win. ManU - sick of them, Leeds - undeserved and thuggish, Liverpool - smug scousers, Arse - smug cockneys and thuggish.

Chewsea aren't in it as far as I can see.

The only satisfactory solution is for us to win. There can be only one.
