dyer/jenas

No doubt this has been discussed before, but I just don't see how both of them can play in the same midfield. Could it be we got Jenas because Bobby knows Dyer won't be her

Why prey tell can't they both play in midfield??
Think of the attacking options and they are both pretty good tacklers as well the only thing wed have to do is play the ball on the deck which is what we should be doing anyway.

I got the impression that when Jenas came on as sub on Saturday he played in a more defensive midfield role. Maybe that was just becuase we wanted to keep our lead but I thought he did reasonably well there. Long term I would hope that our midfield would be

Solano - Jenas - Dyer - Robert

Whether that means selling Speed I'm not sure. He's also a lot taller than I ever imagined him and I can see him being a great defensive midfielder playing a similar role to Viera at Arse.

On the back of Saturday's Journal there was a picture of Jenas in training kit. Exactly the same picture was used in one of the tabloids (Mirror if I remember correctly) but on that one the caption said it was Dyer! I feel for YBR on this one - he'll not know which of the beggars he's picked to play where!

I thought JJ was a defensive m/f player. Anyho... by the teim JJ is a regular first teamer (2 years) Dyer will be off ;-)

2 players with the same hairstyle will upset the balance of the team, every manager knows this, why do you think xavier does his mop and beard in that fashion.

Jenas was described as "another Michael Carrick" by one of the Forest fans I believe. It's also been stated that "he needs to bulk up a bit". When he does (a few nights oot doon the Quayside with Little Kevin and his mates should do the trick - time for YBR to re-consider the ban??) he'll be ready to challenge the likes of Vierra and Keane.

Oh god, not the 'beef 'em up' thing again! :-) Last time we said that it was about JDT!!!

I also heard he was more of a defensive midfield player but with a turn of pace.

Can't see how Dyer can play in central midfield not with Solano and Robert on the wings, it makes us far too light, and we need the tackling of Speed and Lee to stop us getting over run in midfield

oh yeah sorry that was before Xmas wasn't it

Looks like my mistake...I was under the impression Jenas was an attacking m/f

Can't help worrying that with the similarity of their looks. We can look forward to some embarrassing Bobby gaffs ;-)

Vieira was a lightweight pansy when he joined Arsenal, but did indeed "bulk up a bit" and became the player he is today (although at the moment he isn't in the best form)

Expecting him to be Roy Keane when he is only 18 is asking a bit too much. As YBR said, he is one for the future mainly.

I thought the idea was to go for strength in depth, so Bobby's problem is convincing them all that the team consists really of 20- ish players, not just the 11 who appear at any one time.

If Taggnut can do it with manure, surely Bobby can do it with wor lot.

We'd better hope he can.
