New Leica Products in Februarygreenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread |
Well, this is an interesting quote from Erwin Puts latest newletters:"I am preparing several reports on new products that Leica will introduce at the PMA. The embargo date is 24 february and I am respecting the agreement that no information will be made available before that date."
"Several reports" Hmm, a body and a couple of M-lenses, perhaps? :-) Wasn't that a 35mm Noctilux and maybe that new 75mm Tele-Elmarit ASPH I've been dreaming about. It's a tad smaller and lighter than a 50mm Summicron, you know.
We'll know soon!!!

The M7, special flash that syncs at all speeds and the R90/2AA rumours seem pretty solid. There are also strong rumours of a M35/1.2A and suspect rumours of either a R8 style mechanical body or a R8 with focus confirmation or both or none. We will have wait to find out until the PMA. Probably just a new finish will be the only change :-)

Dan, tell us more about your 75mm Tele-Elmarit ASPH. I'm waiting for a 75 'cron. An A wouldn't hurt here. Doesn't have to be as small as a TE, just has to be smaller than the 'lux.

Thanks for the advice on how to subscribe - I notice, in fact that somebody else asked the same thing on a recent, previous posting - sorry. Anyway, it worked.

The 75 TE ASPH is purely a product of my imagination, and I know nothing of what Leica may do, other than what I read here.I would love a smaller 75 to pair with my 35 'cron for a two-lens kit. I agree the 75 'lux (and the 90 'cron and 50 Noct') are all too big for my taste. A 75 'cron would be better, but I think an Elmarit would suit me fine. The TE designation is meely a hint as to my desire to keep it small, very small. 39mm filter for sure. I like little lenses that produce stunning clarity and detail. Like the 50 and 35 'crons, both wonderful for sure.
