Lyrics to the hymn The Servant's Song?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I heard the Servant's song at church last week and loved the lyrics. They especially said what I had been unable to say to some friends whose son has been in a terrible accident.

I wanted to send them a card and would like to have the lyrics (verses 2-4 especially).

Can someone help me? I live to far from church to make a special drive and would like to send the card for valentines day.

Thanks

Well, this is strange--I searched and searched and got my OWN answer. Here are the lyrics--I thought someone else might be moved by them:

The Servant Song Will you let me be your servant, Let me be as Christ to you; Pray that I may have the grace to Let you be my servant, too.

We are pilgrims on a journey, We are trav'lers on the road; We are here to help each other. Walk the mile and bear the load.

I will hold the Christlight for you In the night-time of your fear; I will hold my hand out to you, Speak the peace you long to hear.

I will weep when you are weeping; When you laugh I'll laugh with you. I will share your joy and sorrow, Till we've seen this journey through.

When we sing to God in heaven We shall find such harmony, Born of all we've known together Of Christ's love and agony.

[Repeat first verse]

Text & Tune: Richard Gillard ©1977, Scripture in Song
