I couldn't see us getting that many draws to be honest.

The way we play it's all or nothing a bit like Keegan. We either win or we lose generally.

If you look at Man City's record they've only drawn about three all season.

Can't realy argue with his individual predictions for each game in itself, but I agree with Paul, we're unlikely to draw that many away games. And given our away form so far this season I think we've got a good chance of converting a couple of those draws to wins even if we also lose one or two. Worried about Arsenal at home though.....

I came up with a similar prdiction, but a bit tighter - oooh!!!

Scum 81 Pool 79 Arse 79 Leeds 79 Toon 77

Not sure about Leeds but they have a relativley easy run in, having said that I had them down to beat the Smoggies on the weekend. I think our season comes down to the next 3 games!! More than 4 points and it's a top 2 finish.

Cheers

One thing that is hilarious on this Man Utd website is the revisionism that's going on. The Scousers are on there saying that all great teams are built from the back blah blah blah and the Mancs are saying that they'd prefer to win nowt than play like the Scousers (they are assuming the last 2 games are a blip), one stating, "I'd prefer to watch Keegan's 96 team any time over your shower".

Slight change of tune.

Predictions of Leeds fans:

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- i do think there's very little chance of nufc winning either of the games against cess and arsenal and, since it's a derby, there's at least a reasonable chance that sunderland will get something out of this match. it's VITAL that we do get 7 to 9 points out of these games though.

we need to pick up up points against the weaker sides when we're struggling for form. if we don't make it i think the late capitulations against boro and, especially, leicester will be the ones that i look back on with the most regret.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- | IP: Logged Marky D 1st Teamer Member Rated: posted February 11, 2002 11:03 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- ..and pigs might fly! i do us see us getting 9pts. problem is the barcodes will get at least 4pts. we could do with them losing to sunderland (who are shite, so that won't happen) and drawing the other two, but that is asking alot.

"what a sad, tragic final season for sir alex"- martin tyler - may 2002

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- | IP: Logged dangermouse Squad Player Rate Member posted February 11, 2002 11:00 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- You have just made me so happy,if we could sort ourselves out then 9 points must surely be on. Newcastle surely have to stop winning. We're not dead yet. There is a glimmer of hope after all. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- | IP: Logged the flying pig @ 1st Teamer posted February 11, 2002 10:55 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Newcastle's next three games Sunderland (a) Arsenal (h) Liverpool (a)

Leeds' next three games:

Charlton (h) everton (a) Ipswich (h)

while it's too much to suggest that we'll take 9 points and they'll get none i think it's reasonable to suggest that we'll get, say, 7 to their 3.

we can still get fourth place.

... we'll get, say, 7 to their 3 ...

I think 7 is very ambitious.

Are you saying we'll beat arse, beat the makems and draw with lpool ?

Arse will go all out to stop a repeat of the away result, derbies are always unpredictable and lpool are at home after handing out a 6-0 thrashing, even with the week off

Draw written all over the three of them, verging on a loss at lpool. Call me an owld misery guts, but I'd not be too despondant with 3 points from that lot, and ecstatic if we win one and draw two.

Apparently it's official...i've been diagnosed by a good friend as having terminal pessafootballmissum. Anyway, he's my tuppence worth...

If we manage 0-3 points then I reckon we'll be lucky to get a top 6 spot, 4-7 points then I reckon 4th is still a possibility, more than 7 then Moan Utd better start watching their backs....

Pit Bill, those are the Leeds fans' predictions...

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

Gav, you really are a depressive

If we get 4-7 points we will have lost no ground on one of Arsenal or Liverpool and maybe even gained.

You need to go back to the Xmas predictions and smile at them. We would all have been delighted with two points out of Leeds/Ars away and we got 6. A draw against each of Ars and Liverpool would keep us ahead of them and really only looking at Man U getting in our way of winning the title :0)

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

I'd take 3 draws, though I think we'll beat Arsenal. Not even thinking about the table because it just does my head in trying to figure out all the permutations. I can only worry about that one week at a time. ;-)

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

We've got to beat the makums, they're not playing very well at all and we are (c;

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

Sorry Doug, should have taken more notice of what I was reading.

Don't suppose you know where I can get some incontinence thingies for leaky attention span, d'yuh ? :-{E}

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

Take it one game at a time, please

If we beat Man City we'll be playing in the FA Cup quarter finals three days after the Liverpool game.

Possibly very congested times, although looking at the league fixtures we shouldn't look any further than Sunderland at this stage.

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

We'll beat the makems and arsenal and get beat of liverpool. 6 sixpoints and a game in hand. Arsenals back line is in disarray plus Pires is banned for our game. I am sure they have one or two other suspensions I am not aware of. They are there for the taking. Top two finish.

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

Is Pires really banned?

That's great news, easily their best player this season.

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

found it under the suspension part of the sporting life. It was listed that he will serve a one game ban on march 2nd. I looked again though this morning and they have other names on there, so I don't know if I was mistaken or not. I don't think so though.

Can Leeds really get 7 points out of three games at the moment? I would have thought 5 or even less. Listen to O'Bleary slagging off Kewell.

-- Anonymous, February 11, 2002

Does he want to sell Kewell? Perhaps swap him for a quality Spanish defender growing frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities at Newcastle?

-- Anonymous, February 12, 2002

I heard he was blaming Kewell's lack of form as the reason for Leeds' recent demise. Astonishing that he should publicly single out Kewell, but then again, we're getting used to that sort of behaviour by now from O'Leary.

Sell Marcelino? He's just starting to come good for the reserves! He could communicate to Solano in Spanish.

Just re read this, macbeth explain to me again, slowly, how we can gain on arsenal when we are above them?
