Weekly Prayer Requests

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

Please feel free to add your prayer requests for this week here. Also if you have any updates as well.

My husband's niece's baby is improving, breathing on her own, and has gained 7 ounces. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

My grandmother is showing a little improvement but is still not feeling back to normal yet. So keep her in your prayers also.

A prayer request was made by a poster on CS, for his neighbor who lost their 4 year old son, and their home in a house fire. Please keep them in your prayers as well. (Sorry I forget the name)

Thanks to all, God will not forget your kindness and your faith. Many people are praying over this list. Please feel free to add your prayer requests and updates here.

If y'all would I'd appreciate it if you could keep my Mother-in-Law in your prayers. She suffers from ALS-(Lou Gerhigs Disease) and has has a rough week. She can hardly get out of bed now. Its hard on all of us-her parents-still healthy in their eighties are very upset this week as is my husband and my son-at ten years of age, he's having a hard time dealing with this-actually we all are. It seems like she's gone down quite a bit since Christmas. Thank you so much.

Please continue to pray for Irving Caswell, he does seem to be doing somewhat better and pray for Cora Vee that she can stay strong through this crisis.

A friend of ours will be moving in with us this week for an indefinite amount of time. He and his wife have separated, and though they are trying to work things out, there are a lot of issues to be dealt with (and I mean A LOT of issues -- we won't even try to go into here).

Please pray for Tom, his wife Emily, and us also. This may be a big adjustment for everyone!

Hello Melissa, Its funny that you should start a "Weekly Prayer Request" post on your forum! After reading the responses to my "Whats Your Sign" post I thought I would suggest that someone, (maybe even me) would start a forum with just that in mind! You beat me to the draw!

Though I am not a Christian, it is comforting to know that people pray for the health and benefit of others. With the extra encouragement that prayer gives to everyone, I believe that it DOES help and have seen it work in my past experiences with the Christian churches I have attended. Those churches would also, once a week recite a list of people needing prayers and the congregation would pray for them either during that service or on the Wednesday services. Of course in addition to their own private prayers at home too.

In our church we also had people with various "powers". I am convience that those powers were as real. One interesting power was the "power of decernment" in which the man was able to see into the heart of a person and tell you what was wrong in his life. Another power that again I believe in was the ability of heal with faith. I witness several of these healings over the years. Sometimes it was a theatrical production with the healer sticking his fingers in the ears of a deaf man and giving him the ability to hear again. Other times it was just a gentle touch on the person's body that would heal him or her. One time a minister had a sort of Conga line of believers in front of him. He spoke of their faith and shoved the first person backwards, causing all of them to fall. They All received the healing that they wanted! Amazing!

Anyway, keep up the good work, and I hope that if I ever need someone to pray for me, that prayer request will be available without the fear of someone either criticizing them or deleting them.

Most Sincerely, Ernest

I will never stop these prayer requests. I had actually started doing this the first of January. Usually I start it on Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Since many people would post them seperately I thought it would be nice to put them all in one place. I hope it is a useful feature and there is a seperate category in the archives, just for prayer requests.
