Kodak DC290 won't read compactflash cards larger than 128mb

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Tried a couple of different 256mb cards and the camera would not read or format the card. The card worked fine in my reader and on a nikon and fuji camera. Anyone else having problem or a solution?

Thank You! I'm having the same problem!

Called Kodak Tech Support and they said that they have NOT heard of this problem. So, I thought it was my card or my camera was broken.

All DC290 users, please call Kodak tech support and report this problem!

grr... I wasted so much time on this.. I guess they need to issue a firmware upgrade.

ANYONE HAS ANY OTHER SOLUTION?

Thanks. -Bharat

Hi everybody, I have a similar problem with my SanDisk 256MB. I can see the pictures I took on my DC290 Kodak camera but when I'm trying to save them into my computer a prompt message comes up saying that it can't read the files because the file is complete or the length of the file is too short. Does anybody else have this same problem or a solution?

I am currently using a 160MB Lexar Media 8X CF card. It came with their JumpShot USB CF reader as well. It works great.
