greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

hi,

i bought the following used accessories

EF28-135 (1 and half year old) BP 200 (around 1 year old) Remote Switch RS60E3 (around 1 year old)

i trade these accessories with EF28-90mm EF70-300mm III (both lenses 5 months old) filters ( 2 UV, 1 polarizer and 1 closeup).

i got all those accessories for 325 Euros (approx 280 USD). is this deal good enough. ofcourse the equipment i got is excellent, especially EF28-135mm lens. but i am sure whether the lenses i sold was worth that price i.e 110 USD. what should i do. please help me.

Why do you ask these questions after your purchase? Sounds like you have some good gear (assuming condition is good). Whatever you paid for it - it's yours. Put it to use!

If you want the best deal possible, sell your used equipment yourself. Next, take the money from the sale and negotiate a deal on your new equipment.

Trading in old gear is a time saving service for the customer, but you pay for this convenience. The dealer paid wholesale for the item you bought and marks it up. They also paid you wholesale for your trade-in and will mark it up for the new buyer. They have to pay for overhead and also make a profit. Otherwise, they won't be there anymore for you to buy gear. That's the way it is.
