I'll tell you what! When the board of NUFC decide to 'reward' our fans for what we've put up with over the years, its going to be one hell of a reward! (And in case anybody mentions it, a free bus for us to Mackemland isn't because they are feeling generous).

FREE TRAVEL TO FA CUP TIE

City are laying on free transport to the fans who are travelling to the FA Cup fifth round clash at Newcastle.

In recognition of the commitment of their faithful travelling support, Manchester City Football Club are providing complimentary transport for fans making the trip for the 5th round Axa Sponsored FA Cup tie against Newcastle United on February 17th.

The club have supplied 20 coaches, enabling 1000 City fans to take up their place to travel to St James’ Park completely free of charge.

The travel offer, which is available to fans on a first come first served basis, can be taken up by supporters at the time of purchasing their match ticket. Tickets for the Newcastle tie are on sale to regular season ticket holders with tracked attendance from the Maine Road ticket store from Friday 1st February, or by calling the ticket hotline from Saturday 2nd February on 0161 828 1200. Tickets are priced at £20 for adults and £10 for concessions.

The free travel offer comes as an acknowledgement by the club to the loyalty of thousands of City fans who have travelled long distances throughout the season, many of whom due to the timing of fixtures were unable to return home by public transport after a game.

Manchester City Chairman David Bernstein said, “ We are aware how inconvenienced our fans have been by the frequent changes in match dates and times as a result of the demands of television. In spite of the difficulties, our supporters have continued to be a credit to our club, both in their home and travelling support."

"The free travel offer to St James’ Park is recognition by the Club to that steadfast support and will help our fans in their journey to what I’m sure will be a scintillating cup tie.”

Wonder if I could hitch a lift? Have to pretend to be a City fan though I suppose.
