Hey Daisy....Boy did that make me feel popular to see my name in "lights"! Actually I'm doing pretty well now. Hubby and I have been talking and planning more. We refinanced the farm to lower interest rates and payments and had enough equity to get $5,000.00 in cash for improvements. We bought 10 new double hung (beautiful) windows and we'll save so much by doing the work ourselves. We also stashed two mortgage payments (just in case), bought a new energy efficient 50 gal. hot water tank for the laundry room renovation, purchased 2/100# cylinders of propane to replace the little camper size tanks we were using to cook with and stashed more money with the hope of finally finding a truck to haul hay, feed and firewood. I'm going to Virginia (5 hours away) to help a friend for a few days. She has stage two uterine cancer and as she puts it..."Is having her plumbing removed". I'm worried about her, she heats with wood and is going to be laid up for 6 weeks. I'm going to go stay with her and help out. Can't wait to see what the house looks like when I get home. Actually spending a little time away will be good. My mom called last night to tell me my dad was in the hospital, so might have to come back early if something "drastic" happens to him. I'm getting excited about getting the garden going. It was 75 degrees here last Wednesday. I chucked the housechores and actually went outside and weeded my comfrey patch, barefooted, in a skirt and sleeveless shirt. Boy did that feel good!!!!! I have 50 baby chicks coming on March 28th. I put an ad in the local paper selling the 22 I had for $20.00. Sold them to the first person who called and so many people called over the next week, I could have sold 700 chickens...go figure! A local Farm and Feed Store is going out of business,(60% off) so hubby and I took a "field trip" to see what they had left. Came home with new work boots, a half moon edging tool, and 400 pounds of pig feed. You should have seen all that stuff crammed into my little car. It drove like a tank! Oh, we had been talking about getting a couple of piglets this spring, buying the feed kinda clinched that idea now...lol....My oldest son is coming home from Army National Guard AIT school on the 20th of February, so I have that to look forward to. My daughter has found herself a very nice young man (came to dinner last night) and my youngest son just got straight A's on his report card. So the kids are happy, the hubby is happy (still haven't made the Pj's yet)and things are starting to turn around. Hope I haven't bored you with all the details and sure do appreciate you and everyone else here who helped me "see the light" and not throw in the towel! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! (Maybe I should start a site.."Happenings @ Harmony's") LOL!

Harmony, I'm so happy for you. I have thought about you quite often while working on our farm. You sound like you are begining to get it together and are enjoying life again.

God Bless You

Remember the next time things look pretty bleak: "It's always darkest before the dawn." Glad to see that things are brighter for you now...
