Well done lads!!!!!!!!!!

FFS - bloody footballers! Bellamy, Quinn, Dyer (no suprise) and Cort all involved in what looks like a bit of a scuffle. Girls trying to get into Dyer's car (popular lad) and things turn nasty. As I've already said on this board, if it was a caution then it was not a serious matter. Unless you're a tabloid journo that is.

Really bad publicity for NUFC. These lot should be sensible enough to know that it they are lording it around the Quayside then they will be the centre of attention. It's easy for things to get out of hand.

The Mirror reporting that Bellamy faces 'the sack' (yeah you wish) and is reporting the caution as if it was imposed to ensure the witness didn't have to give evidence. As if she was heavily traumatised! Don't get me wrong I don't approve of Bellamy's behaviour but when you have tabloid press ending their articles with.....'Do you know this girl? Please contact us'....the you know the matter won't lie down.

Wonder if he'll be suspended by the club?

According to Sky Sports Bellamy has been sent home from training

Oh f...k.

If he has really done anything all that wrong, then he needs suspending. But we can forget winning anything (possibly even the nest game) without him.

Conflicting reports - some press reporting a caution and then others indicating he may have charges to face.

The fact he's gone home from training does not look good. FFS Bellamy! I knew this positive stuff couldn't last long!

Just seen Sky News (working from home today!!!!!!!!!!) no mention of him going home from training. Had to laugh when the report said that 'chairman Freddy Shepherd is a stickler for high standards of behaviour' IS HE??????????????

Ahem. "If it please the court, I'd like to make a statement on behalf of my client, Mr Bellamy. Mr Bellamy was going about his normal business, returning from a function in the Quayside area of Newcastle, when a young lady attempted breaking and entering the vehicle of my client's colleague, a Mr Dyer (who I believe is well known to the court). Mr Bellamy, being an upstanding member of the community (except when in the penalty area) tried to reason with the young lady, who due to the intoxicated state, continued to attampt to enter Mr Dyer's vehicle. At this point, Mr Bellamy felt it necessary to prevent the young lady from such entry and applied gentle force (and a few choice words) to protect Mr Dyer's property. As you can see, this was clearly a case of self-defence."

Thing is, there has been such a furore about clubs not punishing players who do this sort of thing that we may feel we need to be seen to do the "right thing". However, didn't Roy Keane kick a woman a couple of seasons ago and didn't Ryan Giggs smack his girlfriend in a nightclub? I'm not sure that either was disciplined by Man Utd.

Wasn't Dyer (and Cort?) involved in some kind of scuffle last season with girls trying to get into Dyer's car? Only it was the girls that beat each other up that time?

According to the Chron - the girl was punched and kicked to the floor! Well i don't think a caution for common assault would follow such an attack. There would be a charge for actual bodily harm AT LEAST.

Dougal, it's highly likely that both women deserved it. A good kicking now and again never did anyone any harm. Remember the old Phil Spector/Crystals record, 'He hit me (It felt like a kiss)'. Now in my day, drone, drone, drone.............
