Lolo now speaks: Dugarry's got my place!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Sorry, Lolo, but you were late!

1. Roger Lemerre named his squad for Romania v France and you aren'tr included. Are you disappointed?

Naturally. I thought I had a small chance of being called up but I haven't. I'm just going to carry on working with Newcastle and wait for the next game the Blues play. In any case, I'm not sure what more I can do at the moment..maybe score a few more goals but otherwise... At Newcastle, we are having a great season and we have to carry on, so I'm going to focus on that.

2. Roger Lemerre is using the players from the World Cup and Euro 2000. Do you understand this choice?

Completely. The collective (I think he means continuity here) is the most important thing for the team just like in a club. There are nevertheless two or three places left in the team for the World Cup and if I am the 23rd man, then I'll be the happiest man in the world. It is a bit surprising that Dugarry has been called up, bearing in mind that he hasn't played for a few months but I respect Lemerre's decision.

3. You have got back from Montpellier. What did you do in training this morning?

We played small games, then finished with a little tournament. It was really good.

4. A new player joined Newcastle this week, Jermaine Jenas?

Yes, I met him this morning. He's a young English midfielder who joins from a first division club. We bought him to help while Kieron Dyer is injured. Also, Warren Barton and Rob Lee have signed for Derby County.

5. This weekend you play Southampton. Are there any injuries?

Only Dyer. I only know that Jenas will be in the squad.

6. You commented that you found it easier to play with Distin than Elliott and *someone on your forum pointed out that this had been picked up in the English press. Have you had any repercussions?

No, I didn't speak to the press, only to the manager and my website.

* That was me. I basically said that his comment had been placed under "Robert takes swipe at Elliott/hits out at Elliott" in the tabloids. Didn't work. He's having a go at Dugarry today..

He obviously needs these things signposting. And I thought the French were famed for their subtlety?

Lolo Not Really French Shock? ;-)

No, the French are famous for being unwashed, untrustworthy, white flag waving, sheep burning, port striking, manipulative and workshy.

Did I mention untrustworthy?
