I havnt a clue this yr. Passed yrs have been spent cooking delectable concoctions and hours spent making the valentines. This yr I'm working that day and havent the energy. We dont go out for dinner whithout the child that day as he considers Valentines to be a family 'love' day. So now what?

Oh god......I saw Martha Stewart on Larry King last night with Valentine ideas..............gag......Like ordering big surgar cookies and 100 dollar boxes of chocolates from Martha's on line ordering store is gonna make my day.

The roses in the vase were cute.......I wonder if I will get 25 perfect pink roses for $99 this yr? *snort*

How about Martha Stewarts head on a platter? Now that is a Valentines Day gift.

Just think , no more carving ponies out of celery stalks to decorate your soup bowls for afternoon brunch with the kids!

OR any of about a million inane activities she has come up with.

As for what I have planned for this year..... I may go all out and actually go to one of the web site that you have to pay to send an email card. Maybe even put her name in instead of "To whom it may concern".

Too mushy?

Email cards you have to pay for? Where is that with so many free sights? Wow! Thats over the top!!! LOL Maybe you could even print it out too? ;-)

I wonder what the average spendature is on Valentine's day? I think the amount decreases the older a person gets.

Well, here is one American Greetings that a limited selection of free and supposedly alot bigger selection for PAID MEMBERS :o(

I think that I would have to agree with the cash expenditure decreasing as age increases. I would rather plant a hundred dollars worth of flowers to enjoy all summer than pay the same for some that will wilt and fall apart in just a few days!

:-( I posted some inane answer and it didnt post. *sigh* I forget the whole thing but it was something like that retail sales are down this yr. (I'm in retail) and its mostly the pre-marrieds who are the buyers and the older more financially secure folks. So perhaps its age and financial circumstances.

I find it harder to shop for a romantic gift for a man than I think it is for a man to shop for me. What is considered a good not smarmy romantic gift for a man? Not fru- fru and not too practical?
