Christian Expositions Plan

None should set sail toward any destination without first charting and plotting their proper course. For when this is done and the helmsman steers a "course made good" that follows the course plotted on the charts has the best hope of reaching his or her destination safely.

For this reason we want to show you the course we have plotted on the chart and invite you to help us to "mind our helm" so to speak until we have reached our final destination. In this case our final destination is a complete exposition of the entire Bible from Genesis to the Revelation of John the Apostle. This is a long journey and not for the faint of heart. But we sincerely invite those who desire to understand God's word that they may serve him faithfully all of their lives. To go with us through the Bible listening to God's words as if we are in His very presence, for indeed we are, with the attitude expressed "speak Lord thy servant heareth".

With this in mind, we will briefly lay out our plan. We will first study the Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Hebrews. Then we will study the books of the New Testament in order from Matthew to Revelation of John the Apostle, excluding Hebrews with which we have began our Expositions. Then we shall give expositions of the Old Testament from Genesis to Malachi in the order in which they are found in our Bibles.

We now explain our reason for giving expositions of Paul's epistle to the Hebrews at the beginning of our studies. The reason for this is because the book of Hebrews covers much of the requisite knowledge of the Old Testament, which is essential to the understanding of the scheme of redemption, which was revealed through Christ in the New Testament. Studying "Hebrews" first will give everyone the very best overview of the scheme of redemption that runs through the Holy Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. WE have found it to be the very best introduction to the Bible as a whole that any student of the word of God could ever find. It is our hope and prayer that though you may find this approach somewhat novel that you will nevertheless find it useful and profitable.

And in all of our expositions we will study the word of God in sections and not "chapter by chapter". Since often this very useful and helpful separation of the scriptures into chapters and verses, though very effective for referencing specific passages at times causes the reader to assume a change in subject matter where there is no change. For this reason we chose to give expositions on entire sections with little regard to the chapter separations but much attention to subject change.

It is also our intention in these expositions to begin with an introduction to the book we are studying and then to take up each section until the entire book is covered. And with each section we will do Three things:

1.) Analysis 2.) Exposition 3.)Reflections

By doing this we will give the overview first and explain details second and finally a few reflections that are suggested in each section. Though these reflections might be multiplied indefinitely, the few that we shall suggest it is hoped will induce our readers to reflect and meditate upon the text for themselves. For indeed such is a rare opportunity in our modern hectic and materialistic world.

Brethren, do pray for us in this endeavor. And join with us to make it useful and profitable to all the saints.

Your Brother in Christ,

E. Lee Saffold
