The great thing about football is that it stokes up such strong opinions and this BBS is, of course, a great forum for debate. I absolutely love hearing strong opinions. One person known for his strong opinions is Tony Pearson, grand old man of The Mag. At 70+, I think you'd have to credit him with some knowledge of football. However, while scathing of Wozza as a footballer, comes out with this in this month's Mag: "I think Robbie Elliott deserves a plug. He is unassuming, undemonstrative and is not the quickest but is a consistent fair and strong tackler and his left foot passes are outstanding in their distance and accuracy". Opinions, eh. Don't you just love them?

Agreed Clarky and with occasional fallings-out excepted, the BBS keeps its Vicars Tea Party atmosphere rather well...

I have to say I disagree with Pearson on that one.It was the "his left foot passes are outstanding in their distance and accuracy" part that really made up my mind. Surely he's taking the p*ss?

Paul - it's a matter of opinion (as the man with the wooden leg said). And I agree with yours. Surely he has to be being controversial so the likes of Dougal can post his comments on here?? IMHO, Elliott has hardly had a good game all season - mainly due to him continually losing posession. But that's only my opinion.

... his left foot passes are outstanding in their distance and accuracy ...So they are. It's just that there's never anybody there to take advantage of them. :-{E}
